Hi Cor!
Eomando (it is it is it is 2 years now!!! 8-) ) Started conversation Jan 24, 2000
I just thought I'd drop by and try to make you feel welcome, not that you won't feel welcome already of course
I thought I'd give you a few helpful links, so;
The ACE's know just about everything (or so I presume) so anything I can't help with, you can ask them by clicking here: http://www.h2g2.com/A214796
You might want to read the H2G2 Post: http://www.h2g2.com/U54963
Or perhaps you'd like some donuts from Joanna's Donut Stall: http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?forum=26840&thread=36565 I'm usually there as well, so don't be afraid to talk. The more people you talk to, the more people will reply to you (just like me)
If you ever have any questions, then you can either reply here, in this forum, or you can pop over to my homepage (click on my name at the top of this post) and leave a message there! I've got links to other people there, so you might want to go and see them, I don't know...
Well, I'm sure you've got lots to look at. It's a *big* place, but you'll find your way around just fine
Nice meeting you, and welcome to H2G2!
E
Thanks for the greeting!

Hey Eomando,
Well I'm still getting used to all this so spay me if this doesn't go to the write place. How long have you been a
member? Your page is quite amazing. Believe it or not you were the first person to write to me. Hence my
speedy reply. Well so you can know a little about me. I'm 5'11", light brown hair, blue eyes, I was born in
Vermontin 1979 (if you care do the math), and I live in upstate New York, oh yeah and I'm between colleges, I'm
moving to New Jersey to go to Devry Institute for electronics technology research. Well I think that is all I can seem to
come up with for now, but it would be great to here form you again. Oh yeah I'm a huge fan of book the Hitchhikers Guide
( like anyone here isn't). If you would I'd like to here about you. You seem pretty froody.
Later,
Cor
Greetings are good, and I like giving them!

Hi again Cor!
You're doing fine, don't panic!
I've only been here 2 weeks, and I've settled in just great, so I'm sure you will too.
A little bit about me? Well, OK, if you insist...
I'm about 5'6", very dark brown/black hair (depends on the light) and green eyes. I live in Durham, as you'll probably know if you've been to my homepage. My real names Vicki, and I'm going to Uni later on this year.
I love the Hitch Hiker books!
What's it like to live in New York? I've always wanted to go there, perhaps I will someday.
If you ever want to know more, then you just have to ask, I don't mind questions.

Hey how was your day? Mine not bad, but could've been better. Hope you don't mind twenty questions.
So what kind of music do you listen to? What is your major going to be? What do you do when your
mind races before you go to sleep and it keeps you up all night thinking of probability, scientific
philosophy, and how many uses for dental floss you can come up with? ( the reason I'm asking is this
happens to me a lot) Do you ever travel by yourself? If so what was the most handy thing you had with
you?(Still baffled by the dental floss question,me too.) Well I think thats it for now.
Hope to hear from you tommorrow,
Cor

Hi Cor!
I don't mind 20 questions.
I listen to classical and jazz music. I'm going to do a degree in physics with/and (depends on the uni) music.
I've travelled on my own a lot, and the most handy thing I've had with me was the plane tickets, and a book.
I'm not sure what I think about late at night - some of the posts I've made in forums are examples of my late-night thought patterns...
Hmm, dental floss, can't say I think about dental floss that much. You, obviously must think about it a lot. Interesting...you'll have to tell me sometime.
Any more questions? I like answering them.

Hey me agian,
I wish there was some way for us to chat back and forth on here. Do you know of any place? Physics good
choice. That was my major in my last collage. It was great but to much of it I already new and the classes went
really slow.
I must say I'm really impressed I've never met a girl who was genuinly interested in physics, it just doesn't
happen. At least not in my dimention. But its great I found you, some times I feel like I'm alone. I think that is
what compells me to talk to you. Noone ever seems to understand me, especially my girlfriend. She'll never give
me a chance to talk about anything slightly intelegent, she says its not worth it. I think the only reason I'm with
her is that there is no point for me to look for some one who is like me, enjoys the same things I do, some one
would enjoy a little spontinuity. I don't know. But it is nice to share thoughts with some one who can.
Hey if you have any questions feel free to shoot. You can ask me anything you want past the age of two(I don't
remember much before that).I like quetions too.
Well its that time again when I ask you some random questions. Where is the most interesting place you've been?
When are you attending collage? Are you planning to go to NY anytime soon? Who is you favorite composer?
What do intellegent women like in men?
I think that is it for now later.
Cor

Well, we both seem to be online at the moment, so we could talk in semi-real time now...
Now I just need something to say.....hmmm....ermmm...did I give you the link for the donut stall? Just cos now that I'm here you're guarenteed to get a response. And the more posts you make, the more likely it is that someone will come and see you...alway's a good thing.
So, what dimension is it that you live in that is totally devoid of girls who are interested in physics?
Sometimes, I feel alone, but ever since I found this place I haven't, so I hope you won't too. If you want, I'll put a link to you from my homepage, so that more people can come and see you. Would you like me to do that?
I'd love to go to NY, but unless I can convice some friends to come with me, I don't think I'll be going any time soon , but I'm working on it...if I succeeded, it'd be around July, after the final A-levels are done, and before we all go off to Uni in Sept/Oct.
Where is the most interesting place I've been? ...I don't have an answer to this, I've thought every place I've been to has been interesting in one way or another...even if I found it amazing that it could rain so much in one place in one day.
Favourite composer? This changes depending on who I'm listening to at the time. At the moment, Debussy, Shostakovich and Stravinsky...
It's nice that you think that I'm intelligent enough to answer your last question...my answer would have to be...a good sense of humour, someone who can stand up to serious sarcasm, and also be intelligent. I couldn't stand going out with anyone who didn't understand me...
...well, that's just my opinion...
See you soon...

Greetings,
Well its cool your here some where I think I'll keep looking for you. You know I think your right about the kind
of person that would under stand me, but the only problem with that is that I would have an incredably long time
by my self that I can't deal with. I've never had problems attaining girlfriends, its just that I rather have a smart girl
than a beutiful one, and most of the time they choose me. I only go along with it because I don't like being alone.
I guess it is one of my flaws.Any way you probably don't realy want to here all that.
My favorite composer has always been Bethoven. Well if you ever come over you should look me up by then
I'll be in Jersey and I can show you around NY.
Well I'm leaving now but I'll be back to morrow around the same time.
Later,

Leaving, so soon?
If you must go, then, "bye"...
Now, me, I'm picky when it comes to boyfriends, and if can't have at least a sensible conversation (well, OK, just a conversation) then I just can't be bothered with them...sad, isn't it...it's very likely the reason that I *don't* have a boyfriend.
Oh well, if I ever do get to NY, then I'll tell you, I think I'd be lost there, so it'd be nice to be shown around.
If ever you're in the NE of England, then tell me, and I'll show you around here. Or if ever you're near London later on this year, then I'll hopefully be there...(that's where I want to go to Uni...) and I'll try to show you the little bit that I'll know.
Ever heard Beethoven's Violin Concerto? I'm just asking because it's a set work for my A-level music...
...See you tomorrow.

Hi,
I'm back. Yeah, sorry I had to run so fast but I had to go with some friends. Your pretty intelegent for waiting.
Unfortunately I started dating when I was to young to realize what sortof emotional need developes after you
so much time with some one. It makes you week to being alone. So I would say you should stay. Anyway I
have to go again. I'll finish what I was saying when I get a chance.

OK, I'll probably be here.
Well, maybe not, I'm out tomorrow for a friends 18th (fun, fun, fun.), then again, by the time I get back, you'll probably be logging on. However, whether I make sense or not may depend on how much I slur my words together.
Did you know it's 1:05AM over here?
I've spent all this time just waiting to hear back from you.

Hi,
How was your friends party? Thanks for telling me about the time zone shift. I forgot about the distance. So
you waited up that all that tiem just to hear form me? Wow, quite flattering I must say. I glad you did though,
it gives me a sence of importance.
You seem to be the only person I can talk to right now. Everyone else I know seems to run from the concept
of thought like it were a Bugblatter beast. I think they still hold on to the concept that "If I ignore it than it wont
bother me", which they seem to aply to everything. So as always if feel slightly stranded in sea of shallow
thought.
Well right now it's 4:30 so I'm not entirely sure of wha time it is there. But I can assume that it' s already late.
What do you do in your free time? How much will it cost for you to come to the U.S.? If I could ever come up
cash, I would go to over there I've always wanted to. I know a few people that attend this collage that are from
the UK. I'll talk to them and found out how much it is.
Anyway I think though that the U.S. is a little more diverse as far as terrain and people everything. It so huge it
take forever to see it all. But after this summer I plan to go and travel all around. I'm going to hop on my
motorcycle and see all there is. You should join me. Well you could if you ever got here. But I'll be fine on my
own. But it would be nice to travel with some one. I have this urge to see new things and places. Wondering in
the search of "the sleeper"( from the movie Dune). You should see it, if you haven't already.
Well it's that time again I have to leave. But I'll be looking forward to your next message. Hope to hear form you
soon.

Cor, you're 5hrs behind me if that's any help.
I've looked into coming to NY after persuading some friends that it would be a lot of fun...it took a lot of persuading, but they agreed to let me loose and see how much it would be. Well, the cheapest I could find was 3 nights, for £240. I don't think that that's to bad...I've still got to tell them though. One way or another, I'm determined to go before I start Uni. I've been promised a holiday for after my A-levels, and if I find someone to go with then I'm calling it in.
I wish I could go round America...I love to travel, it's one of my favourite things...but it's just wishful thinking.
If you ever do come over to the UK, then you'll have to tell me. Until Sept. I'll be up in the NE of England, but after that I'll either be down London, or in Glasgow (depending on results)
Who else have you tried talking to that ignored you? I can't ignore anyone, so I don't see how anyone else can...
My friends party was good. My feet still hurt from walking around (Durham has the bad habit of still having some cobblestone streets, which aren't very nice to walk on in the shoes that I was (and still am, because I'm replying to you as soon as I've gotten in) wearing)
Well, its now 12:10AM, and it's taked me approx. 20min to write this (I had to get rid of the slurred words) so now I'm going to post it.

Hey sunshine,
I say that because they is bright sushine porring in through the window and out side eight more centemeters of fresh snow. Really breath-taking I might say. Ok I'm back to reality.
You know you have the most exquisite way of making me feel good. Eventhough I'm 5 hours difference you still wait to here from me, thats what I'm meen. Even my girlfriend gives up after five minutes. You wouldn't believe how many times she has left me to go to dinner on her own just because I was late a few minutes. But being up until that time just waiting to hear a reply is rather ammazing.
I talked to that friend of mine she said that it usualy costs here about $500 american round trip, but that doesn't count staying somewhere but I could probably find a place for you to stay if you wanted to cut the cost.
You know you could always do one of those "study abroad" programs after your first semester at collage. I know lots of people who have done it and are going to my collage here. We have quite a few students who are from outside the U.S. If you did that for a year you could travel over the summer. How's that sound?
Well i'm not sure when I'll be going to the U.K.,but it will be soon with in a few months but untill then I'll keep you informed. Because you are have to show me around. Do you live with your parrents? I ask because if I had a place to stay I could go sooner. I already have enough to get the plane ticket but the hotel expenses are what kill you.
When I said ignoring me I was talking about my friends. Usualy when I have conversaions with them about phiosophy or anything about science my knowledge and understanding surpasses there understanding and it is to much for them to think about. So they ignore me or change the subject. It's awfull I know but they are my friends and it isn't there falt that they can't perceive what I can. I used to get so frustrated because I couldn't talk to anyone with my full capacity, but I accepted that noone realy uderstands anyone else anyway. I always feel trapped by my mind and that if I wasn't aware I would be fine. Are you aware? Aware of your existence compare to the rest of the unkowingly living there life of mindless darkness. Maybe you are mabey your not but when you are you will realize how different it all is when you look inside the minds of people and see truely how simple they are. I will tell you some time when you want to know. Be sure you do because when you know it changes you very frame of mind and there is no turning back.
Wow did I ramble on. Well I have to head out so. I'll talk to you later tonight. I feel I can trust you my name is Cory Michael Sapone, E-mail is [email protected], and I live in a small town in upstate NY called Plattsburgh.

You have snow! I wish we had snow here...
I wouldn't mind doing one of those study abroad things at Uni, though I doubt I'd be able to pay for it once I'm there...
I'm going to take my time writing this, mainly because I'm busy in about 5 other forums (all of which you are very welcome to join) and I don't want to just rush somethingoff. So my apologies for the delay in your recieving this.
I live with my parents at the moment, but I won't be once I get to Uni. If you want me to show you around, then you should delay your trip until I get to Uni, unless you *really* want to see the NE of England - but somehow I think London may be more interesting.
If I came to NY, I'd end up going with a couple of friends, it's a long flight to sit on by yourself, and I don't tink my mam & dad would want me going by myself...(too protective I think, but they mean the best...)
It's a shame that you can't talk to your friends they way you'd like to. I sometimes have the same problem, but that's down to my not expressing myself properly.
Believe me, you do not ramble on. You make perfect sense. I haven't actually stopped smiling since I read your post...a very rare thing indeed.
You *can* trust me. But I'd be careful about what details you give out over here. After all, anyone can read this.
Still, I'll trust you.
My full name's Victoria (Jayne) Blackmore. I don't really like my middle name, which is why it's in brackets, but alas, you don't get to choose the name your parents gave you.
I'll give you my own e-mail address, that way no-one at home will be able to read anything that's sent. So if you get an e-mail from me, with a different address to this one, then don't worry, it's just our home address. My address is [email protected] (I take it that yours is hotmail, not hotamil?)
Anyway, that's enough from me for now. I'll see you later tonight. I'll be on propbably until 1am here (that's 9pm for you) I've got to be up at 6:30 on Monday morning, so I'll have to be off by then.

Are you here?
Well you knw how I told you we got some snow? Well we got twice that last night 12-15 cm just last night. Wouldn't you like some of that?
In most of the collages it is part of the school to have study abroad it costs the same you just go through your collage, adn they treat it as if you were going there. I was thinking about it. So I checked it out, and thhat is what they said.
I think I might wait till your at collage to visit that way you can give me a propper tour. And your parents wont object to a "boy" visitting. You can visit when ever you want so don't worry. But I warn you I hope you have a lot of engery because I like to have fun. Have you ever been to a rave club? Well I haven't been to a real NY one but we'll find one. Plus we'll do anything else crazed americans do. You might have to give me some ideals as to what you've heard.
I don't really have a problem expressing myself, mainly because I just come right out and say the truth. It makes the more complicated things in life a lot simpler. But it does some time create a conflict between. So you can trust to always get the truth from me, so you can ask me any of the "Great Questions" in life or ones about the minds of men ( the mistery to all women). And you can ask all the personal questions you want, or can think of and you don't need to be shy.
Well my friend wants some personal time with his girlfriend (I'm on his computer). So I'll talk to you tomorrow.
Bye

As long as people don't mind me lacking tact then I say exactly what I mean...however, if I was to talk like that to some of my friends, I doubt they'd stay my friends...some of them understand though, no matter how much I babble.
I've found a problem with me coming to NY, even though I really, really want to go. First of all, the prices sky-rocket in July which is the only time I could come...and second of all, because they go up so much, I'm having a hard time finding someone to go with (the girl who said she'd come can't afford it.)...and if I don't find anyone to go with, then I'm not going to be allowed to go. My parents say that even though I'm 18 and I can do whatever I want (within reason) they don't want me going on my own - I don't blame them really. So now I've just got to find someone else to go with...and persuade...
I start uni in Sept, so it won't be too cold over here. Infact, I don't think it generally gets very cold down there...not compared to the north-east anyway. They think it's freezing, I don't...which means that *you* will probably think it's warm (considering the temperatures you get in NY)
I'm not sure if the year abroad thing can be done on the course I've applied for, but it probably is, so I'll look into it...still it'd be for the second year, which is still a long way away.... I have no patience, I know...
The most snow I've seen at once in my life was about 3ft deep. But that was when I was 8 and school got cancelled because of it. I like snow...but we don't get as much now.
Well, I'd better go...not that I want to...but I'd better...
See you later.
E

Please, please, please, please, pleeeaaassseeee come to the beach at http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?forum=26840&thread=37967 and stop them from burying me in the sand with a JCB...please...I'll give you a donut.

...Just so you know...if you read this before you send me e-mail anyway...I had to change the address...(although anything sent to the old one should still reach me) so the new one can be found on my homepage...anyway, it's [email protected] now... But don't worry if you read this after you've sent something...it *should* still reach me...
...Anyway...I've got to go...
