You are thinking of the clown figure who would wind a crank changing the titles at the start and end of Camberwick Green, before and after the musical box.
Trumpton finished with the Wednesday band concert, which then moved to
curvy shaped titles.
Chigley also used curvy shaped titles, following the dance in the forecourt of the biscuit factory.
