I'm a 'newbie', but more of a 'won't-be-for-long-with-luck'.

In I stumbled on Monday and yours was the first entry I read, regarding the Kingsland Road.

I just wanted to let you know it inspired a reply, which I thoughtlessly posted without completing (can I go back and edit and add?).

As a newbie, I'm just getting to grips with all this, but thought you may like to check out the first part of my Wander Along River Lea, which starts with a dedication to you (of sorts).

Hey! I've just visited your personal space and read your excellent (introductory?) paragraphs on 'Wander Along the River Lea'. You really can write, can't you Great stuff. It's so sad what happened to Douglas - I've still not got to grips with that weird dynamic in life that somehow seems to make the lives of really nice people either difficult or short. Mmmmmm... But what a legacy, eh? I totally love h2g2 and what it represents. I worked in publishing before (contract publishing - magazines for businesses, that kind of thing) and totally despaired at ever escaping the daily dollops of bullshit spoonfed to me each morning as I walked, depressed, through the shining doors to be greeted by false, weird, ignoble, unhappy people. So hang in there! Be noble! Be brave! Listen to Cat Stevens!!

Before you freak out thinking you've got a stalker, I went out with Tana Mana Dave and Anna last night for my boyf's birfday. I got to praising this site and we established that you must be the Sam who knows them. I think I even met you at a BBQ recently, though I was rather piddled so stopped short of saying "I know what you look like".

I thought it was a fairly fab coincidence so decided to let you know.

If I don't see you around the Guide, perhaps I'll see you around Stokey.

(And if by any chance you're not the right Sam, sorry, ignore me, I'm a fool!)

Ha! What a great coincidence Thanks for posting! (Sorry for the delay in replying - I've just got back from holiday). Tana Mana Anna and Dave, eh?! And did you come to Phil's BBQ at our house recently? I'm very sorry, but I can't as yet put a face to the moniker PeskieMinx.
