One of the worst officiated games I have seen in my entire life. I have never seen such a one sided refereeing display. Don't get me wrong Villarreal are good, but theres no way we should have lost that game in normal time.

Collina hang your head in shame, Poll is better than you at the moment by comparison. I just hope its incompentance rather than something more sinister...

Or maybe I can put this another way - if you were Argentinian (and let's face it, Villareal are almost an Argentinian team) then you certainly wouldn't think that last night was his worst match - that would have to be the 2002 World Cup match against England and that penalty decision, surely.

No, but its no excuse. A man of his experience should have been able to handle the game better. He seemed quite capable of keeping up with the ball. No I don't subscribe to that theory. He should still be able to keep going at his age... 46 for a referee in England is still very acceptable.

Even Forlan couldn't believe that he'd allowed the goal to stand. If I was a Villarreal fan, I'd be delighted, but I'd have to acknowledge that we'd been given a lot of good decisions.
