Norwich captain Mark Fotheringham has said the club's players must sacrifice drinking as they battle for Championship survival.

this is something that has always intrigues me. here in france, and to a great extent all over the continent, it has been a simple fact of life for the last 10 years that footballers just DON'T drink. maybe a little off-season, though most are teetotalers starting from their academy days. during the season what's called "hygiène de vie" is considered as important as scrimmaging. no drinking, nightlife, fatty foods or sodas...
but when le guen tried to change drinking habits at gers it set off a locker room war that cost him his job.
there are several things that need to take place before english footballers start to win back their spots in premiership teams, and before england becomes a national team to reckon with; but this is one of them, and maybe the hardest one to carry out.
