Barnsley FC: Who?

If you've been thinking "I'd just love to read an article about those dodgy old chancers Barnsley Football Club" lately, then you're in luck, as I'm serialising (aka putting extra bits up as they occur to me) what might end up being a vast and sprawling article on that very subject. If not, you could just laugh at my hapless and hopeless football team, or maybe offer support to a fan who isn't used to second division football.

Good luck, mate! smiley - ok There's certainly no reason why there shouldn't be an Entry on Barnsley in the Edited Guide. I'd suggest just 'Barnsley FC' as the title, since any Entry on a football club is obviously going to deal with the club's history. And just one pedantic style point: you've swapped between using single quote marks and double ones in the Entry. It's best to stick to single ones, unless you have a quote within a quote - that's just an Edited Guide style thing.

One other thing to bear in mind is that, in general, 2,000 words is considered to be about the maximum ideal length for an Entry. I mention this because you've gone into a lot of detail about Barnsley's beginnings, and if you carried on in the same way you'd end up with a very long Entry. I'd try to summarise a bit if I were you. Keep the most important facts in, of course, but bear in mind that what you write will be read by all kinds of people, not just devoted Tykes fans.

Anyway, I'll watch the Entry's progress with interest. Once again, good luck with it! smiley - oksmiley - football
