Any advice at all. For example, hands, duration, stance, attitude, style, tongue...

Hard, hands on and long, but, well yeah, tender can be good, sometimes. But sometimes it helps to show your dealing in "The right Stuff.." It depends very much on the setting..

I've noticed variation in the tension of people's lips, some are taut and 'live', while others are totally soft and yielding. I find the yielding lips quite gross.
My advice is to get your entire self into your lips (and tongue, etc, depending on the kiss). Close your eyes and focus on the sensations. When you're really kissing, the rest of the world ceases to exist. The best kissers are those who can lose themselves completely in it.

It all kinda depends on the situation. I usually start off kinda gentle, to see how the kissee reacts, then kinda go from there. After a bit, caressing the face, running hands through the hair of the other person is nice. I usually switch a bit between fairly firm to kinda limp lips, but not in the extremes. Remember, you aren't trying to attack the person, so don't feel the need to grind teeth with them. And, at the same time, too weak of a kiss tends to send a message of disinterest. Ooh, and eyes closed, definately. And, try pulling away every now and then, and try kissing the bottom lip and top lip separetly.
If/when using tongue, remember: your kissing partner still needs to breath, and most people have some sort of gag reflex when anything gets jammed down their throat. Just gently slide it a bit, rub toungues a bit, then, try inviting the other's toungue into your mouth by pulling your toungue back out, but leaving your lips open a bit. Usually, this leads the other person into sliding their toungue in your mouth (if interested). There's no need to perform any sort of Hoover Vaccum type action.
Kissing along the jawline and chin is nice, too. And, go for the juggular! It's actually very sensitive, and kissed right, is very enjoyable.
But, most importantly, enjoy it! Like another post says, lose yourself in it. It's fuuuuuun...

There's a not terribly useful entry on the subject here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A4889 .
I'm in the "variety is everything" camp, myself.

Yeah, I'me seconding the variety motion, of course thats not the case if its a quick "peck" or short "goodbye" kiss, if you know what I mean?

'tis true: I suppose you have to match the kiss to the occasion - otherwise you'd be trying to leave somewhere, and it would take all night...
My father has become very keen on the Belgian style of 3-kissing everyone you meet - or at least every woman. He claims it's just becoming integrated into the local culture, but the females of the house are a little suspicious...

I really need more experience in this area. But then I have trouble with being an incredibly shy person.

Strange, when not on the net I am incredibably shy as well, unless I drink gallons of alocoho, which makes me very, very drink, with no inhibitions!!! Although I do seem to do that; drink, everytime I go anywhere, and also, huh, whilest I'me here also.
Kissy kiss!

hrm, I am known as a drinker. But when I drink I just get tired. People tend to think I am less inhibited when I drink, but any reasons for not being inhibited are due to other reasons. I know because people thought I was uninhibited from drinking and I know I hadnt had enough alcohol to make a mouse drunk.

Well, I am pretty sure alcohol makes me less inhibited, but it also depends on my mental state at the time; sometimes I get drunk but loose no inhibitions, cause of my mental state at the time; how I am feeling basically, whilst other times I am less inhibited cause I feel so good for some reason, although the latter don't happen too much nowdays as I generally never feel too great, mostly.

Hrm, I actually had a really good way of getting in a good mood whenever I was getting down, which was just to think of something that cheers me up. actually I havent done that in a while because the last month or so of school had so much stress that I havent had much time to be in a good mood. In fact the few times I really enjoyed myself is when I was having a drink with my friends. That led to the idea I get much less inhibited when I drink.

I must admit, I'm a biter, gently grabbing the other persons lips with my teeth, and pulling, has to be gentle, but its interesting! My hubby is a really good kisser, I can't stand slobby kisses, but he always keeps his eyes open!! Arrgh, complex! (I don't mind it,, but I'm quite a shy person!)

Yesss!! I definitely agree on the biting-theme (as long as no carnivorism is involved).
Sucking the lips is wonderful too, as much as kinda licking the upper lip from inside out by gently pulling your tongue towards you.
Another variation is sucking the tongue (restraining from the already-mentioned Hoover Vacuum-thing). Kinda like you do with a soft ice-cream does Dutchies are all fond about...
