A Conversation for How do I...?

FLYBYNIGHT Started conversation Dec 12, 2007
Hi friends,
I was on h2g2 as CheeryFLYBYNIGHT and as such had my Space etc, my list of friends and conversations.
On acquiring a laptop my password wasn't recognised, I had to choose a new one, and had to change my name to amazingFLYBYNIGHT. and now I'm registered as a new member.
I have lost all my previous information and can't access the old conversations I had from as far back as 2004.
Does anybody know how to retrieve them?
Your help will be much appreciated.

"I can not find any original 'CheeryFLYBYNIGHT'
Take your pick:
< <./>Search?searchtype=USER&searchstring=FLYBYNIGHT</.> >
Whatever your login name it does not have to be the same as your screen name. Chances are you missed a character or something
The previous mentioned 'FLYBYNIGHT' has posted as recent as last month, this will not ba a stale SSO registration (they all date back before 13-10-2003). "

If you forget your password, then the thing to do is to click on the 'Forgotten Your Password' option that is given beside the login box when you try to sign in. This takes you to a page that asks you to give the answer to the 'secret question' you provided when you joined h2g2, and your date of birth.
In the interests of security, other people (including Italics!) don't have access to your passwords any more. The secret question is the last safeguard against people gaining access to others' accounts. So if you can't remember this I'm afraid they can't really do anything.
If you're 'locked out' and think you might be able to remember the password, then they can remove that block to give you another chance to enter it correctly, but that's about it I'm afraid.
Email h2g2DOTsupport@bbcDOTcoDOTuk with all the details you can remember from your old account - the U number, the email address, the titles of some of the entries you wrote - they may be able to assist.
