...I've only been here for 2.5 years. My PS stinks like a thing that smells horribly and I've been trying to update it. I'm in GuideML (now) but need to know how I can make the A numbers linkable. (I hope that I've made myself understandable 
)

If anyone can point me in the direction of a relevant help page (I keep meeting brickwalls

It's fairly easy - it just looks like you've missed a few closing tags or got them muddled up.
It should be something like this:
I'm a Thingite, come and join us here: Some useful text to describe where 'here' is.
That'll highlight the text in blue and make it a clickable link to the A page you point it to!

If you wanted to link to, for example, the Flat Cap and Muffler Club, you would include this in your GuideML

magwitch, forget what the

What you need to do is have a scoot around, see someone's page you like and type in http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/testuserpage with the U number added on to the end of the link with no spaces, but without the 'U'.
That way, you can copy their good bits, get rid of the nasty bits and just add your own stuff in the middle! Works for me (although my space does need a bit of redecoration, must be said!)

) However, having been here for a while I thought I ought to meself and find out how to do it proper, like. I'm going to have a mess about over weekend (hopefully)
