i'm playing this game right now, and it's driving me absolutely mad.

right now i can't get past the part of the game on vogon ship. if anyone else has played this game, i'd love to know how to get the atomic vector plotter out of the case. i know that you need to type whatever word the recording tells you, but it doesn't work for me.

every time give the command "type '[the required word]' ", it tells me that it doesn't understand the word i'm trying to type. i've tried typing only the word i need without a verb, but it just says "aaaaaghh" at me.

anyway, then i get dragged away to the airlock, minus an atomic vector plotter, therefore ruining my entire game.

someone please help me before i shoot myself

Hvwe you tried typing the word in Vogon ? Sorry, I don't know the game, so don't know if that's an option

Hmmm... if I remember correctly (and I've not played in years), if your trying to get the vector plotter, and ford is already trying to talk the uard round, then its moved on past the point at which you can type the word in Just to check, you did get the bable fish in your ear before listingin to the vogon poetry?

hrm. i guess i'll go back and try again where i saved my game last.

well, ford starts to talk to the guard right after you listen to the poetry, so i don't think it's too late.

you need the poetry to type the word in, anyway.

and it still isn't working

sorry to triple-post, but this is what the game hints say...

9. Now that you've heard the glass case's recording and the second verse of the poem, you know what to type on the keyboard in order to acquire the atomic vector plotter. (You'll have to wait until the guards drag you back into the Vogon Hold, of course.)

10. For example, if the recording asked you to type the second word from the second verse, and the second word of the second verse was 'lyshus', you should type TYPE 'LYSHUS' when you get back to the Vogon Hold. NOTE: Each time you play the game, the lines of the verse come in different orders. Similarly, the glass case's recording asks for a different number word each time you play.

Yousaved your game? whichever version I found made you start over again whenver you messed up. kinda turned me off.

Ahhhh.... Didn't see that link; thought you might have been talking about the origional text adventure game

you have to listen to the vogon poetry with the babel fish in and tell the captain you enjoy his poetry then when you are put back in the hold press the switch on the case and then type what it tells you to type

I don't know if you ever managed to type the word and the the plotter, but IIRC you need "double quotes" around the word, not 'single quotes'
