What is the right expression; being involved in something, or being involved with something.

I think, it's being involved in........

It's usually "in" but there are other ways of using "involved" anyway (eg switching the sentence around).

Are we talking relationships, objects, activities or people?

You are involved with your family.
You are involved in a lawsuit.
You are involved with your hand drill.
You are involved in an underground illegal crumpet smuggling ring.
You are involved with Elaine.
You are involved in an illegal crumpet smuggling with with Elaine.

I am involved in the task of getting with the carrying on of whatever it were that I was doing before I got this stupid word stuck in my head....
smiley - headhurtssmiley - fullmoon
involved
involved
involved
involved
involved
involved
involved
involved

remind me to become involved in hating you later.

It's get worse, you can become involved AT something, also.

"I was involved at the highest level in the local government."

"He was involved at NASA during the early stages."

Nuh
nuh,
nuh...

Where did I put that recording of "Innagaddadavida"?

First I (Dutch) had written in my personal entry;

and from 90-95 I was involved with victims of World War 2.

After your extraordinary explanations, I have changed that into;

From 1990-1995, I was involved in social care for victims of World War 2.

Or should that be; I was involved át social care????????

If Social Care was a named entity like that (eg the Inland Revenue or the Government as much as Elaine) then you could be "involved with ...". However in the more frequent case of something you are doing then you want "involved in ...". If something is an event like Waterloo, then you want "involved at ...".

PS Your amendment (not the final suggestion) is a lot better than your original version. smiley - ok

You could have been involved at a social care faciltiy. Where you were involved in programmes that led to your being involved with World War II victims. smiley - winkeye

This thread didn't take long to degenerate(?) into a word game of finding the most convoluted sentence construction involving the word "involved". smiley - biggrin

Actually, I think the word you are looking for is "engaged" rather than "involved".

For me to to engage in a description of why this is so would be rather involved, but I can try if I have to.

While I do not have Elaine's current phone number or whereabouts, I have received a couple of lovely letters from her solicitor...
something about "sis and deceased"...

Ah so you are now involve in discussions with you solicitor to fight an impending restraining order involving improprieties, imagined or in deed, involving Elaine.

Too much involvement with that women I fear in your past tonsil revenge. smiley - winkeye

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

Being involved with Elaine was most probably the beginning of the end, or at least the end of the beginning, involving as it does that which involved others in her situeation involved in rstraining activities, kind of reverse evolution, involution. smiley - erm

That's okay, I'm now involved with the solicitor in a No-Wave Polka Band from Nova Scotia that only plays instruments that haven't been involved in recordings played at FBI HRT sieges.

Have you ever heard "Enter Sandman" played as a Salsa on pennywhistles?
