Tomorrow is h2g2's 1st birthday. I think we will be celebrating at Mari-rae's farm. (if we're lucky) It's much nicer than I imagine Vegas would be. smiley - smiley

You bet it will be. Can we build a fire at night? We can all sit around the fire and just get drunk and be happy because of our birthday smiley - winkeye

That sounds like a perfect idea, Kheldar. There are several acoustic guitars around for singalongs. I believe God is smiling down on us. smiley - smiley I'll start collecting wood right now. smiley - smiley

Don't forget to take it to the farm though. Otherwise you'd have all this wood lying around over here smiley - winkeye.
So, how are you doing today?

I'm fine. Actually, it couldn't be better (a fact that pretty much scares me smiley - winkeye )
The fire was just a thingy that popped up in my brain. I'm glad it worked out so well. Everybody is doing their share to build one smiley - smiley
~wonders if he's allowed to tap himself on the back for doing such a nice job. LOL!!~

Thank you very much. I always decide that I should think about what I say first, but I can never seem to make it work smiley - winkeye.
Sometimes I come up with good ideas...

For this time of the year the weather is great. Sun is shining, just a little breeze and a temperature of about 20 degrees Celcius. These is usually the kind of weather we have in June or so smiley - smiley.

We've had unusually warm temperatures, too, this year. Our winter was unbelievably mild. Hardly any snow at all. smiley - smiley Our temperature today is almost 20 c. I have the beginnings of a tan already. Usually, I'm white all summer. I've been taking a little time to myself to just sit with my eyes closed, and listen to the birds and trees. It's very relaxing. My dogs seem to like it as well. We've been able to go for long hikes in the sun. There are acres of hills and woods all around us, as well as two canals. Lots of little adventures. smiley - smiley

You're very lucky. When I want to do that kind of things, I have to go on a vacation. We don't have that many woods and hills in Holland smiley - sadface.
Temperature's about the same here today, just very clouded and a little bit of rain

Yes, Canada has lots of undeveloped land. It's bigger than the USA, but they have 250 million people and we only have about 30 million. A lot of our land is under ice and snow, though. smiley - smiley

Well, the Netherlands now have about 15 million people, and it's definately small than the US and Canada. I think it would be...well maybe 7 times the size of New York (the city), perhaps a bit more, but that's about it. Nice place to live though smiley - smiley

I've always imagined it to be nice. When I was growing up, our neighbours were from Holland. Martha and Robert Vander-something. They were wonderful people. smiley - smiley They had magnificent gardens. It's starting to get pretty green here. Most of the trees have got leaves. I love this time of year. The mosquitoes haven't started yet.

I think we have a family Vander-something living in our street as well. I wonder if they are related...smiley - winkeye.

LOL. smiley - smiley Could be. smiley - winkeye It's supposed to get up to 26 C here on the weekend. smiley - smiley Of course, that means yardwork. smiley - sadface I have to pick up all the dog toys and stuffed animal remains so the lawn could be mown. The grass is a good 25 cm. high in spots. If the neighbours wouldn't mind, I'd sow wildflower seeds everywhere and turn the yard over to the birds and butterflies. smiley - smiley

LOL. smiley - smiley Alittle boy (maybe 7?) once told me that it looked like tigers should be living in my grass. smiley - smiley All the negihbours get their lawns sprayed for weeds and bugs! I think this is a very harmful trend. I have large patches of moss in my lawn ( approx. a quarter acre) and I encourage it. It's green, and doesn't grow high. My lawn also has a healthy population of worms, which aerate the ground and provide a harvest for birds. Something the chemacally treated lawns don't have. There are also some very pretty flowers throughout the lawn. I know they're considered weeds, but they are so much more interesting than grass. smiley - smiley It's a beautiful day here today. About 25 C, with a wonderful breeze. I have company, they are playing guitars, so they don't miss me. I just wanted to log in and talk to a special friend, and share my joy. You are that friend, Kheldar. smiley - smileyI hope you are as happy ( I've also had 4 beers, so I'm in that mood where you want to be around someone who really knows you. As only the friends at h2g2 know you. The real essense of your being) Any way, I want to leave a journal entry and then get back outside. smiley - smiley Wishing you everything you've ever dreamed of. Cheers, Kheldar. smiley - smiley
