It's good that you have other friends on the teams. If you're worried about what might happen if you drink staying sober might be advisable 
. It might come down to which would appear most out of the ordinary, you not staying for a drink or you staying and not drinking.

I can get away with not drinking if I drive down. And the guys accept that I've done that for them all before. I was once designated driver for one large booze session.
