What the hell??!!
Mots Posted Dec 31, 1999
not at all... you see, i don't consider it the next day until i go to sleep and wake up again. I'm a practical guy... and it's just not practical to have it be one day one minute and another day the next, y'know(calendars are EVIL)? So, since i haven't been asleep since christmas, it is still christmas. Ah, the wonders of coffee.

Yeah, sleep deprivation is all good and well, but it screws up your sexual performance. No coffee for me.
What the hell??!!
Moonjack Posted Jan 1, 2000
Sleep deprivation gives me hallucinations and inspires me to write poetry. Kinda like acid without the risk.
What the hell??!!
Gwennie Posted Jan 2, 2000
Life is one big illusion although I can skip some of the poetry - especially the Vogon kind!
(Pass me my straight jacket, please. It is time for me to return to my mental home.......)

Like acid, but without the risks?! But there are risks...like losing your sleep reserves permanently. It can make you age prematurely, you know. Yaish, yaish. S'true. Uh huh. Yeah. Try my 36-hour day plan. Stay up for 24 and sleep for 12 straight. Same as a "normal" day in ratios of active/sleeping time. 2:1, see? Anyway, I find that it works quite well. Except for people that have to actually go to work everyday. Just get yourself a job as an HTML writer or something...

You could try the "powernapping" plan... awake for 6 hours, sleep for 2, repeat. The more often you sleep the less you need, also a true fact.
As for the risks of not sleeping, I don't do it deliberately, just take advanage of it if life sets me up that way. Stay up for 36 hours when and if I need to, then sleep for 12 the next three days to make up for it. I actually sleep a lot, but stay awake a lot too.

And if there were fewer burglars, there wouldn't be so many of them, numerically.
What the hell??!!
Moonjack Posted Jan 3, 2000
No, I mean I sleep at more of a 1:1 ratio, but stay up maybe 18 hours aveage and sleep 12 hours average, which gives me a 30 hour day, which can be a problem.

Mr. Shower Touchie Posted Jan 7, 2000
I once stayed up for 72 hours straight. Now all my Final Fantasy 3 characters are at level 99.

Mr. Shower Touchie Posted Jan 7, 2000
Too bad the most recent two had suckling lint for plots.

Mots Posted Jan 7, 2000
tends to happen after something is integrated into pop culture, at least in the silly USA
What the hell??!!
Antithesis Posted Jan 7, 2000
The silly USA? What, is there a non-silly USA? I'd rather live there.
What the hell??!!
Mr. Shower Touchie Posted Jan 7, 2000
Yes, you have a point there. But...I've noticed all places are silly in their own ways...in Japan the FF series was much better, and what I get to play on my console is the "improved" version tweaked out by Square of America...yet Japan has this advertising that I find quite silly. You know, where a million pictures fly by at a hundred miles per hour and the voice over actually screams about the product in the proper rhythm? I laugh me arse off when I see one of them. But here we have something much worse: babies' bottoms commercials. Yep, there are lots of commercials here featuring those tender cheeks. Yech.
What the hell??!!
Antithesis Posted Jan 8, 2000
Yes, we have those too... you'd wonder if they're actually trying to sell products or not.
What the hell??!!
Mr. Shower Touchie Posted Jan 8, 2000
If they wanted to sell me something by using someone's naked bum, then why not use some famous supermodel?? I think these advertising people are seriously warped if they find it appealing and therefore think that it is normal and that others will also find it appealing and, as a result, try to use it to sell a product at all!
What the hell??!!

I was going to try and get myself involved in this conversation somehow but now I really just can't be bothered and can't think of anything relevant to say anyway.
Nevermind
