The gift of a membership in a pretty cool organization like the 'World Wildlife Fund' or something.
One year I gave my brother a gift manatee (from one of those adopt-a-manatee places) for X-mas. And he gave me a punch.
After giving the matter further consideration, maybe that isn't such a good idea for a gift. Just get him a tie or her some perfume!

Give them a very unique present... like a lock of your hair or a tie printed with your/their photo. Or something really weird, like a nicely wrapped gift set of individually coloured halibuts.

What about a stone elephant (life size) or for a really unexpected reaction a stoned elephant. Oh the laughs as next doors car is trashed
