Everyone should have access to a pub such as this. Unfortunately, most of the pubs where I live are modern and all serve "potato wedges". On the other hand, you can find a decent ale in many watering holes these days. So you win some, you lose some, but you can always have another pint!

Do them come with tomato ketchup or B-B-Q sauce?.
It all hinges on this fact. While the Tomato is an honourable and noble sauce, B-B-Q is indeed its master in every respect. B-B-Q has conquered where others have fallen sadly. Not once have I seen 'Salad Cream' flavour crisps. Never have I seen groups of people in their garden cooking things on a tomato. Only the mighty B-B-Q has stood up to be counted among the truly great.

I find putting BBQ sauce on my food is just like squirting on a little artificial smoke flavouring (or am I using the wrong stuff?). If you're talking about brown sauce, I suppose that's a different matter. Tomato ketchup is the best: it tastes real, it's soothing, but it's not as bland as mayonaise or salad cream.

Potato Wedges in NZ come with that Kiwi fave, tomato sauce (ketchup without the spice), ketchup or with salsa, melted cheese and sour cream. The wedges themselves come in either plain or spicy.
