I wonder if you could help me update my space.
I would like to insert a page I wrote in HTML...is this possible?
If so, how?
Thanks

Seems you ask a very simple question. But the answer has a catch.
1.Go to Your Home Page In GOO format. If not look around on Alabaster
2.[click] Edit Page
3.[click] HTML formatting
4.Cut and paste HTML
Now just for the record H2G2 does not use a full HTML 3.0 editor or an XML application. Don't even try any active X or JAVA. Give it a try with what you have and see if anything doesn't work. If not message it or maybe modify or delete some. As a further note, there is no method of uploading or storing graphics at this time so all graphics have to be linked from other sites. So maybe smaller graphics are better to allow short load time and a better site look.
That should help. If you have any other questions just give me a call. Take care.

I tried what you said, it kind of worked but the page content went way over to the right and left a huge gap, the other problem is that the pics obviously dont get dragged along with the and I would really appreciate it if you, or anyone may be able to tell me how to upload them.
Sorry for being a dunce, and thanks again for your help, you're a darrrrlin'!
Thanks lanc guru

I must ask more questions to get a better idea of what is happening. Well you are in classic GOO. That takes a couple strings out of the pile. First you said "upload"...? There is no upload capability at this time. You must use HTML 3.0 basics to creat the page. All graphics must exist on the web in some other site/location, as geocities, tripod or your own URL. Then a link command is used to call up these graphics. Use .jpg or .gif other formats specified by graphics programs as Adobe, Flash, ect. plus .bmp are not displayable at this time. Cut and paste from a wisiwig editor will also have problems. MSFP2000, HotDog, HotMetal, Swish, PageMaker, Dreamweaver, and many others use HTML more advanced than 3.0 and most will not function. CSS, Frames and other place hold methods dont work. Keep it Simple. If you would like me to look at the HTML I will give it a glance. You can E-mail me a cut and paste. DO NOT SEND AN .EXE .BAT .VBS or any other executable file. My virus software will delete it. BTW the layout format is less than 640 pixels wide. I dont know the exact but arround 500 is a good visual clue when doing layout.
You are doing fine just remember start your page small and add one step at a time. May not be a great change but it makes finding things that dont work easier to repair or replace.

Wow .... now I understand. To make it simple on your H2G2 page put a link to your other page. Don't even try, all will be lost in the translation.
Seems your HP has lots of scripts running. They are pretty but they dont work here at least right now. An applet or script contains 2 major parts. The part of the HTML instruction you can see when you select view screen. Then a hidden part called a class script that resides on the server. The HTML calls up the graphic and the class script. The graphic you see, and the script is a resident server file that tells the graphic what to do. You can not upload these class files at this time. You may select ML page editing and it will allow easy text boxes but that is about it. The fun moving graphics you sometimes see around here are the pages of the people that work at H2G2 and they have access to which class files are stored on the server and can use them. However as far as the public and myself included maybe later. I am sure the web site editing will be more robust as time goes on.
I hope that helps. You have a beautiful page BTW.

It's all working now, looks good. I have to say that I am a little bit jealous, you seem to be doing what I would like to be doing!

raspberria: your site looks great in MSIE5, but fails to show at all in NS4, it also works fine in Opera.

Thanks for your interest Lanc Guru, and your help.
I think I'll have to settle for a tidy straightforward guide entry, but I will put a link in my space somewhere!
Cheers once again
