h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Following not less than two birthday celebrations yesterday - a niece's 18 years faily thingy from 12 to 17 and a university friend's 40-mumble from 17 to midnightish (and we were fashinably late, even if we left the first one a little earlier than decent) - we have been practical in and around the house:

- Window pane in greenhouse replaced
- Scare-owl (same idea as a crow, only this is a quite realistic owl in sturdy plastic materials that is supposed to keep the pigeons away fromthe cherries) down from the tree and stored in greenhouse
- Grass mowed for the last time this year (sod it, we need a new mower, this one is rubbish)
- The bedside lamp i C's room declared dead and in need of replacement (the switch, the transformator or both are not working, neither is serviceable)
- Taxation question on Mrs SG V and her sister's cottage in Sweden clarified and a mail sent to the Swedish tax authority on which of the three owners to send mail to
- Course of action for the dripping faucet in the kitchen clarified (call DIY store tomorrow before 16 to order replacement parts, on warranty)
- Shopping done for the next few days (open first and last Sunday of the month)
- Dinner cooked with cubed beef and soy, to which potato, root celery, leek, not carrots (by some kind of mistake), garlic and rosemary was added for the last hour's boil
