Mmm... beer...
Ahem, excuse me...
Can one of the resident latinists give me a hint as to what "beer" is in Latin?
I was under the impression that it was "cervitia" (1st declination) but I keep seeing this "carpe cervisi" = "seize the beer" around here, and my mind insists that it would actually be "carpe cervitiam."
Someone? Anyone?

The Latin word for "beer" is "cervesia" or "cervesa". "Seize the beer" would be "carpe cervesiam". I don't find the spelling "cervitia" anywhere; it's probably a misspelling, but since Latin is involved with a lot of languages, it could be a spelling in another language that I'm not aware of.
