Ok, I'm sure one of us will try to sort the aceforum out for you. In the meantime, this may sound a silly question, but some do forget, could you check that the email address you have in your h2g2 details is the current one you are using.
re newbies page; I'm sure Lil will get back to you, if she's got any sense, and not an insomniac, she'll be sleeping like a baby right now, it's nearly 5am, and I'm going back to bed, maybe I'll get some sleep now.

Although any researcher can post on a new Researchers page, it does make the Aces job more difficult if it is the first post, as this takes the newbie off the new Researchers page, and if no Aces have the time to check that all newbies first posts are from an Ace, it can/and sometimes does result in a newbie being unAced.
Sometime ago, in an attempt to limit the anmount of non Aces making a first post on a newbies space, (which often meant the newbie didn't get Aced) it was decided we would be more careful with posting the link to new researchers page on site. Which was why we didn't post it here.

Wasn't an italic thinking about agreeing to make it an ACES only link (like <./>ScoutRecommendations</.> is for scouts eyes only)?
Perhaps we could mention it again now that the election and film launch and PDA launch etc are all done

Oh sorry, I didn't realise that. That does answer my confusion as to why nobody posted that link when I thought it would be a pretty simple thing to do! Was just trying to be helpful. And it's not like other people can't find their way to that page anyway, it is a named entry after all...

It is ok Alison, as you say it is available to anyone that finds it. Which is why we had suggested making it a aces only link.
Not to worry

True, but that was quite a bit further back. If they've got to this point and they're still reading I'd say they're pretty dedicated lurkers. The mundane life of aces can't be that interesting surely!

We are doing a good job now, chatting like this.. building up a backlog

No worries Alison, there is a at the end of my last post.
If Lil hadn't posted what she did, and I guessed what she was doing, I would have posted the link, along with something like what I said in post #24, indicating to non-Aces reading the post, that although they can post on a newbies page, it makes our job difficult, and is not always in the best interest of the newbie.
And glad your sticking with us TB
