Yep - I noticed them too, I picked up a few who had posted to their own spaces. They are a class of 17-18 year olds who are doing a course called "The Novel". It appears that the novel they are studying is HHGTTG 
I even found one who said (I paraphrase) "This site sucks. I'm only doing this for school, I prefer Facebook." 
At least he's honest
