well, that's just about it. If I want to add a link to something I'm mentioning in a thread, how do I do it?

OK, unlucky you just got h2g2 most techno incompetent Ace, so excuse me if i assume you are as dim as me!

I assume you can copy & paste? If not, get back to here & either me or someone else will tell you how.

Copy the URL address from the address bar of the site, then go to the h2g2 convo you want to put it into, get the cursor to the place you want to put it & go back to "edit" at the top, find "paste" in the drop down list & click.

If you have the link written down, you need to make sure you include http://

For instance, this is my website, i could copy & paste from favourites, but since i know it off by heart, its just as easy to type it in:

http://punk2junk.tux.nu/ (BUT check spelling!)

Hope this helps a little. BBC doesn't like links to commercial websites & obviously nothing that breaks the House Rules.

Highlight "Copy" and click. {left mouse button} Now the info is stored in your mouse. Yup, i was a "copy & pâste" virgin too, honestly, i don't know how i lived without it! I was SO dim i actually thought you had to painfully write down the addresses & then type them in again! It was driving me mad "wah! all these dots & slashes seem to be important!"

so, there's yet another way huh?
