There is a person, with several user IDs, who has been causing a certain amount of concern to several users, and who, in particular, targets newcomers to the site. The said person is adept at feigning innocence, and seems wily enough to plead their own cause with ACEs not subscribed to 'Ask h2g2'.
The behaviour of this person is weird, but some ACEs seem to offer this person the benefit of the doubt. It is not for me to tell you what to do, but could I suggest that you deal with said person via their own PS, rather than in some of the more public threads. There follows the posting I have made in the various complaint threads, which now have over 500 postings, and several people have agreed with the wisdom of the tactic it suggests.
Suggestion to everyone trying to solve this problem, here and in other threads. To get this converstion away from Ask h2g2, which is one place newcomers are sent to (and these convos say near the top of that), instead post to a journal entry I have created F138071?thread=375360&post=4791998#p4791998.
That way, any newcomers will not easily find this, not join in, and not come under suspicion. That is the main idea, to move away from a place likely to cause real newcomers to be suspected, when they may be perfectly innocent.

We've been told via the mailing list not to be the 'moderation police force', and instead concentrate our efforts on ACEing newbies. I think this is because it promotes a negative image of the ACEs.
Consequently, the ACEs wouldn't necessarily be the ones to contact about this.
