I am ok, thanks.
Quite busy actually - i seem to be replying to posts left, right and centre
I had forgotten how involved i get with h2g2!
i have been busy looking after my neighbours cat that fell out of a 2nd floor window and shattered his back leg. I haven't done any veterinary nursing for a year so it was quite weird using my skills again.
I hope he will be ok but they may need to amputate his leg.

Anarane, be careful, you do not have the power to officially warn people. I know you only meant it as a friendly warning, but i have seen italics tell volunteers off for over stepping their mark in just that way.
Consider this a friendly warning.

ACEs are there to help, they are not their to boss people around. Although i'm sure that wasn't the intention, they must be careful to make sure it does not come across as ordering people around. The case in the past i mentioned was much worse because the volunteer actually used the term "official warning", when it was no such thing, but all volunteers must be careful not to over step the mark and say things only italics have the power to say.

Mr nipple...
Before i say any thing this is just a explernation to the question in the last post before im deamed to take sides im not
ACEs are here to help people new researchers give them a welcome etc or if a researcher needs to know any thing we are always happy to help
We are always meant to be polite to researchers never nasty
In the same way realy we dont have that much cloute on h2g2 we are aloude to ask nicely not to do something that breaks the house rules if they continue to do it we can yikes the post
We realy shouldn`t throw our waite around becouse yikesing is the only way we can back it up
We have two sets of rules to follow the ones every researcher has to agree to and another set as well

All volunteers need to represent the best of h2g2, and as intern says - in actual fact we *always* have to be on our best behaviour (even though it is hard at times) and have to follow more guidelines than normal researchers.
But we volunteer for it and get alot of pleasure from being a help to others .

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
