could someone please explain why i never got aced when i joined please?

Because you came to hoo too via another site, so the ACE's cannot access your page

It could be due to you posting on your own PS (Personal Space), that takes you off our page that shows new Researchers. (At a busy time we can have as many as 100 or more new researchers in a day.) I know you didn't know that, we do sometimes check the PS's of newbies to see that the first posting is from an Ace, but it would appear you were over-looked, and we only apologise for that.

That'll be another reason, if you were originally from another site. Now you've registered with Hootoo, we can post an Ace Welcome, which I have now done.

Someone partially re-registering their account on h2g2 to post on h2g2 doesn't then magically allow *you* to post a message to *them* on h2g2. You still have to post it on their own home sub-site really. Which means *you* have to be partially re-registered on *their* sub-site. But the system won't show you that or tell you that in error messages (because that would be too helpful).

Normally, we can only post on the PS's of those registered with h2g2. The system let me post, so I assumed CelticFreedom was now registered with h2g2.

Can we have a big smiley, one that I can go crawl under, it would get plenty of use.

No, I'm not (as far as I know) with Collective, I only registetred and use hootoo.

There's a way to fix that. If you'd rather be on h2g2, then click on this link: U2021167?homesite=1 (NB it will only work for the numbered account holder, ie CelticFreedom in this case).
