If you can't stand the heat...

...stay out of the forum!
If you can't say something nice...don't say anything at all.
If you give up on love...it will give up on you...one day.

And if you try to grasp love with both hands then you get hurt.
*but still smiles sweetly*
The pesimist

Pessimists are never disappointed!
Love is never easy for anyone, but it hurts more if you lock yourself away from the possibilities. Be prepared to love, even when you are not loved, or think you are not, and life will be warmer and more fulfilling. Expect too much in the 'name of love', and you will undoubtedly be disappointed.

Many things make love, expectant of it is just one of them...

To expand on the theme...
if you expect too much of someone because you 'love' them, and feel you have a 'claim' on them, it is the fastest road to destroying that love, or any hope of it.

Love is always best for the pesimist though, they expect nothing but get everything and if it does eventually fade then they have more than they bargained for. As for the being prepared to love when you are not loved, it can make life warmer and more fulfilling but generally it just hurts.
Always the pesimist.

The only way you can keep love from hurting is to lock yourselvf avay from the possibillities. And that is based on experience. Something you don't hawe and don't want cant hurt you.
I didn't love anyone in 8 years (or more) and I got along just fine.
Then one day not long ago i let myself love again, and I already regret that. (In some ways I don't, but if I haven't I wouldn't been hurt)

You'd never let me play a round with you? I'll admit my golf isn't great, but I was hoping you could help me with my swing.
