Nothing new under the sun?

40 years or so ago we lived in a little house in Ethiopia with parquet floors. The lady who worked for me (who was illiterate in five languages) used to fix dusters to the crawling Spearcarrier's arms and legs to help polish said floors.
I saw today an ad for a babygro with polishing mops attached to the elbows and knees. I hope the babies that are provided with these will also go on to learn to toddle with dusters strapped to their feet, although they are unlikely to have a very large dog to assist them by allowing them to haul themselves up on its tail. smiley - starsmiley - star

The baby mop? I love it! I lack a baby to put it on, so I will have to do my mopping the standard way...

The ad I saw was for a blue babygro with yellow dusters but it looked like that one.Doesn't seem to have done any harm nor do any other of my somewhat eccentric child rearing practices. smiley - starsmiley - star

That baby (now rising 41) has just been contacted by a friend from Cameroon who is thinking of organising a school reunion for ISOY. They left about 28 years ago - and haven't met since.
Sending Assegeditch to school to learn ro read and write her first language (Amharic) resulted in one of the most embarrassing experiences of my life - she threw herseself on the well-polished floor and kissed my feet. She needs a book to herselfsmiley - starsmiley - star
