A Conversation for Seven Swans A-Swimming
Swan Lake

>the ballet Swan Lake is famous for a complete lack of swimming swans. They dance, skate and generally have a ball, but swimming? Nope. It seems even the most talented ballerina can't make the doggy paddle look graceful.<
If you've seen the Adventures in Motion Pictures' version of Swan Lake which features male 'swans', there is a moment when we first see the lead Swan when he appears to be swimming across the back of the stage (actually,he's kneeling on a little trolley being pulled by a burly stage hand, but it looks good!).
These swans also become very aggressive in the final act, hissing and atacking the Prince and killing the lead Swan. They're still graceful, but very scary with it.
The ballet (which I do the re-lighting for) has just finished a 3-month tour of England & Wales, but will be on at the Dominion Theatre in London during February and March.
