h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Yes tis true me has a moving date... Thursday 7th October... not sure if tis good or bad... as me will REALLY miss my Lair... but on the other paw me will have a brand spanking NEW Lair to enjoy... mixed blessings me thinks...

So with that news me will be leaving h2g2 for a couple of weeks maybe... me knows how much you will all miss me... and me understands as only someone with my ego can... you poor... poor... poor people... ~Greebo does the biggest group huggle ever imagined on h2g2~

The Lair computer is dismantled and boxed this weekend... so after that... tis just a large doughnut... er me means Greebo shaped hole left where me has been... please remember me well...

Me would like to take this oportunity that thank all those who have been an insperation to me during my time here at the Lair...

the nice police people in their big van when they did that rather surprising drugs raid on the house up the road... (red faces all round then me thinks)...

My brothers (where ever you be)...
My sisters (you are the best)...
All my other relations...
The very helpful lady from the phone company...
The team from Stargate who have kept me sane... or should that be insane...

Just because your moving lairs doesn't mean you are allowed to open house-warming s early you know!

I have specifically told the driver and the tanker driver not to allow you in until *after* you have set your computer up again.

Thin and unhealthy (and grubby and oily) decribes my Katie to a Tee at the moment but doesn't come anywhere close for you. I've never seen such a plump, glossy-coated, well-fed looking cat as you.

some weeks without our Greebo?????

Don't you realise your pc is the most important part of the lair (after the s and your towel)? Packing it should take only half an hour, so why not wait until October 6th and re-install it on October 8th at the latest? Or does it take so long to get a telephone connection in the new Lair?

When we moved we got a new telephone connection active on the day we got the key of our new house. Only some decided to move the adsl as well that day, more than three weeks before the move itself. Luckilly I have also a laptop with a modem, so I could at least get online in the adsl-less time.

Have a nice move (if possible) and reconnoiter soon to find the closest source of s.

Hi Marjin... ~big huggle~... the phone line will already be activated when me moves into the new Lair... me has already sorted that... ~grin~... but setting up the computer is not so easy... first we have to find it in all the boxes and assorted detritus of the move... next we have to contemplate the best position... which room... where in that room... how to get a phone cable to it... move it to a better place near the phone plug... find all the cables... make sure they are all in the right holes... etc... etc... etc... tis a most trying time me thinks...

That shows the strength of good planning.
We put a number on each box, and the room it should go to, and made a list stating what was in each box and which number it had.
Long before the move I made certain which telephone connections worked, prepared the cables and installed the adsl splitter.

Some days I laid stretched on the floor to use the laptop, as there were no tables or chairs yet, but internet worked.

Ah me see's you are thinking of prioritizing instead of me running around in a blind panic like a headless chicken like me plans to.. ~wink~
