The Eagles are a great concert!

Hello Dragonfly, I'm Elwood
(and in my third week as a researcher here at h2g2). I think Shea said I owe you $5 for using your trademarked YAY! (darn did it again - $10 - will you take smiley - choc in trade?)

I saw the Eagles in your nickname and had to stop by. I've seen them in concert in the late 70s and the "Hell Freezes Over" tour. Both shows rank as top concerts for me. Though I was closer and sober for the recent show and enjoyed it more, since I thought they would never be together again.smiley - cry It was great that they had some new material, but it just whetted my appetite for more. I hadn't heard they were touring again so thank you for the incredible news!smiley - biggrin

YAY!!! Good to meet you... what's in the chocolate bar!?? Is it solid!?? smiley - winkeye

Shea is right about the use of my copyright. I'm glad she is keeping everyone honest. One can always ocunt on her!!! smiley - winkeye

I am EXCITED about the EAGLES. I really really really do love them!!! I've even learned "Best of My Love" on the guitar. Good to know there are those with excellent musical taste still out there... smiley - winkeye

I think the Eagles are just about done with touring Europe, and the only American venues I know of are in Dallas and Denver...

RINGO STARR is also touring, as is Stevie Nicks. I saw RINGO last summer!!! YAY!!! HE IS MY FAVORITE BEATLE!!!!

I know I'm "The new kid in town" but I'd say "Take it easy" on the chocolate, I think there's a "Tequila Sunrise" inside and it might make you a "Witchy woman" "Out of control". You might hop in an "Ol '55" or a "Midnight Flyer" and experience "Life in the fast lane" "On the border" to the "Hotel California" unless you're "Already gone" and are now a "Desperado". "I can't tell you why" but you should have a "Peaceful easy feeling" before there's a "Heartache tonight" and you're a "Victim of love" and "You never cry like a lover" on "Seven Bridges Road" over "Bitter Creek". I better quit this because my "Train leaves here this morning" *whew* smiley - bigeyes

Where did that come from?

Hey who was that crazy-looking guy wearing an old faded Eagles tour shirt running out of my office? smiley - yikes

As far as the Beatles - I've never seen one in concert, but, I have seen Fleetwood Mac.(they were fabulous - we were main floor about 20 rows back!) I would love to go to Stevie Nicks, but, she's in Detroit the week I'm on vacation. (huge disappointment!) Maybe she'll come nearby later in her tour?

Fleetwood Mac would be the coolest... Mom and I are interested in Stevie... but she's NOTHING like the EAGLES!!! smiley - winkeye

I've seen Three Dog Night...

Three Dog Night! Are you that old or does your mom just have great taste in music? Though I did just see a Three Dog Night re-union tour a couple summers back, but, just two of the "Dogs" were there. Denny was in rehab or something.

I still would like to see Stevie solo. "Belladonna" is a favorite album.smiley - smiley

Well your students have quite a resource in you.

I thought about being an art teacher, but decided to do it instead. (it being commercial art)
But my wife is a teacher and she loves it!smiley - smiley She has taught first, second and third grades. (She likes 3rd the best)

What ages do you teach? (and do they get a chapter on the Eagles?)smiley - tongueout

smiley - biggrin I have two twelve year old guy guitar students just now... I might gain a fifteen year old girl... we shall see!!!

I'm in college and I work part-time... so... yes... My mother teaches piano to just about ANY age!!! AMAZING!!!

My great-grandmother taught English, and my uncle is a professor, but I'd rather not teach-- not that I wouldn't love it... just... I want to focus more on my own future children, and I want to WRITE, not teach...

If my students get GOOD enough, I'll teach them about the Eagles and the BEATLES, but they haven't practiced enough.... Grrr...

You never know about those 12 year olds. My brother-in-law took lessons at 12 and by 16 was in a band as lead guitarist, singer and songwriter. They were called "Mr. Me", but college broke them up, so he's between bands now. They didn't play the Eagles though it was more like MXPX or Green Day.

That's GREAT though!!!... How many people can ever say they EVER picked up a musical instrument!?? Or, in your case, a pencil to make a drawing with!?? Eh eh!?? smiley - winkeye

It's a gift to be creative-- or to want to-- and try to-- create!!!

What artists do you yourself admire!?? I love Georgia O'Keefe!!!

Post 12

It's funny you should ask that. We are getting a web-site for our studio up in July and they asked that for our bio page. My answer was Vincent Van Gogh for his passion that is visible on every canvas and Walt Disney for taking his art form to a high level of creativity and professionalism and making it accessible to all. (but there are too many favorites to limit it to even those)

O'Keefe is an excellent choice. Her stark paintings with their strong compositions also seethed with restrained passion.

Believe me, having a creative career makes it easier to go to work.smiley - smiley

So the Muse moniker I see attached to so many people around h2g2 is your doing. You are the Musemaker? Is this something I should try? What amuses me? Should I be a Keeper of something first? Is the Muse Initiation particularly embarassing or painful? Is there a Museship available for the Perpetually Inquisitive? smiley - smiley

Great questions.... smiley - winkeye

Let's discuss over a slice of cheesecake, shall we!?? YES!!! We shall!!!

::Shares a turtle cheesecake::

You are the Musemaker?

Yes. I am. ::Sings:: Musemaker, Musemaker, Make me a Muse!!!

...But I've never been called a Musemaker until you did so just now... always was the Musemother, Musemom, Musemum, et al...

Is this something I should try?

No...!!! Don't EVEN think of trying to be a Maker of Muses!!! That's my job!!! ::chokes on her cheesecake as she realises she misunderstood::

Oh... I'd love you to be a muse... if you like... smiley - winkeye

What amuses me?

I dunno... Art does... I have some artistic muses already, though... not that this should discourage you at all!!! It just limits the titles you can go for, my dear!!!

Should I be a Keeper of something first?

If you want. That's up to you.

Is the Muse Initiation particularly embarassing or painful?

Nope!!! I used to tease about making it embarrassing.... You can now have Baptism by Chocolate Milk(see my nick for more information, hahahahaaa.....), which I have briefly considered as mandatory for all muses, but only briefly. I believe in everyone following their own beliefs, so that would just be a big old fat contradiction!!! NOPE!!! No special ceremonies... I don't like pain or embarassment... If you become a muse, you are considered one of my children!!!

Is there a Museship available for the Perpetually Inquisitive?
Yes, that Museship is available. YAY!!! smiley - winkeye

Does this mean I am now a Muse? Did this happen 16 hours ago as I was driving home from work? If so should I have felt something?(I'm not sure its safe to drive and muse at the same time?) Am I too perpetually inquisitive? ::mmmm, good cheesecake:: (Maybe I should have become A Muse of Desserts?) ::mmmm, turtle flavor anything with chocolate in it works for me::smiley - choc (maybe I should have been Muse of Chocolate-a-holics) As a MuseMom can you have children twice your age? ::burp, washes down last of cake with last of baptism chocolate milk:: (I think I like this musestuff)smiley - biggrin

On another subject, I was surprised you knew the "Fiddler on the Roof" tune. I was in that show twice. It was the 2nd musical I ever did. (I was Mendel the rabbi's son). 10 years later I was the set designer and played Reb Mordcha the tavern owner.

Thanks for my Museshipsmiley - wow

Does this mean I am now a Muse?

NO. It doesn't, sorry.... but please do apply at the Roster is you want to!!! YAY!!! http://www.bbc.ci.uk/h2g2/guide/A498936

Did this happen 16 hours ago as I was driving home from work?

No, dearheart... no...

If so should I have felt something?(I'm not sure its safe to drive and muse at the same time?)

You can feel what you like. I daydream while driving, and I'm ok, but of course, the roads I take aren't that busy...

Am I too perpetually inquisitive?

I don't care. Questions are good. And good for you, and is cheesecake!!!

::mmmm, good cheesecake:: (Maybe I should have become A Muse of Desserts?) ::mmmm, turtle flavor anything with chocolate in it works for me::

We have a Muse of Desserts, sorry...

(maybe I should have been Muse of Chocolate-a-holics) As a MuseMom can you have children twice your age? ::burp, washes down last of cake with last of baptism chocolate milk:: (I think I like this musestuff)

I'm pretty sure we have a Muse of Choco-holics.... and I can do anything as a Musemom!!! I'm actually(in character) EXTREMELY ANCIENT!!!

Of course I know about the Fiddler soundtrack.... Mom brought me up the RIGHT WAY!!! smiley - winkeye
