Please don't forget George Harrison's involvement in The Traveling Wilburys. Thanks,I enjoy their music.

I didn't forget. I was just too lazy to put in a whole aside about another band (notice that I didn't even mention Paul McCarteny's Wings). The Wilburies were a good group, though. Never did figure out who the guy who WASN'T Orbison, Petty, Dylan, or Harrison was, though.

Oh well, no biggie. I'm sure I've got it in one of these books here somewhere. Woke up this morning and for no reason whatsoever I've got "All my Loving" stuck in my head. Weird.

Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Oct 25, 1999
You know, when I was much younger, about a month after seeing "A Hard Day's Night" I started writting a song that I thought was extremely Beatles-esque. It was much much later that I realized I had rewritten, almost verbatim, "If I Fell".

Perhaps thats why they are so great.I know for myself that they speak to my heart and they express better than I whats in my heart.
beatles
Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Oct 25, 1999
Well, some of their songs are not as expressive as others. "Hey Jude" and "All You Need Is Love" have meaning, but I'm not quite sure what "Revolution Number 9" was supposed to expres...

Am I wrong in thinking or is there a song titled 'Golden Showers'?
beatles
Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Oct 29, 1999
You're fifty percent right. The song is "Golden Slumbers". It's on Abbey Road, it's a lulabye.

When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide, Where I stop and I turn and I go for a ride, till I get to the bottom and I see you again. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm going to be out of town this weekend, if I get a chance I'll peek my head in on H2G2, but if not...

The article is great! For some reason it saddens me.Do you remember the line in Independence Day(movie)when Judd Hirsh says 'all you need is love' John Lennon, smart man, shot in the back, very sad.?

Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Dec 2, 1999

This is the day? My God, this is my parents' wedding anniversary! I can never remember either date, but now I'll have the one to connect to the other... a happy event and a terrible one (uh, my parents and John Lennon respectively). The *other* day the music died. Moment of silence, please.

No wonder that John and Yoko movie was on the other night. I sometimes wonder about what would happen if he were still alive. I think he would love the internet, the freedom of it, and become a cyber guru that people would go to and ask for advice. I think he would have loved being able to touch the world. Great article Irv, you should mention Ringo's greatest hits such as "Drumming is my Madness" and "Guy who narrated Thomas the Tank Engine before George Carlin"
(just kidding)

Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Dec 11, 1999
Thanks for the endorsement, Beeblefish! I had forgotten about Ringo's stint as Mr. Conductor on the kiddies show, but I actually think he was better than George Carlin. He's made for children's television.
