Having a Wii under the tree this Crozmas

Hmm two weeks since my last check-in
Managed to arrange a day off today (now off work untiland a good job I did too. 10am this morning whilst having a well earned lie in I get an unexpected phonecall...
Me (yawning as I was still asleep): "Hello?"
Hot-Sounding-Voice: "Hi is that Croz?"
Me: "Yeah..."
H-S-V: "It's (Hot Sounding Voice's real name) at Gamestation in Walkden."
Me: "Oh hello."
H-S-V: "I've got some good news. Your Wii preorder has just arrived. When can you come and collect it?
Me (now very much awake and very happy indeed): "W00T! I'll be there in 30 minutes! Could you put a copy of Rayman, Zelda, Wii Play, a second nunchuck, a classic controller, HDTV Component cable and a Wavebird on the pile too?"
H-S-V: "Can't do Wii Play, the nunchuck or the component cable I'm afraid as we're all out of stock. Should have them in the first week in January. Got those others though."
Me: "Nice one. I'll see you shortly"
I dive out to Walkden and face all the Christmas shoppers who'd all descended onto Tesco for the main Holiday food shop. Thankfully I managed to get a parking space with little problem. 2 minutes later I join the queue (about half the queue were picking up preorders). Could've kicked myself, I could've used the opportunity to trade in my PSP and 7 games. Meh I'd probably not get that much for it anyhow. Next time I go in I might trade them for some more Wii and DS stuff, maybe also some old Gamecube games if the mood takes me.
So yeah, I'm now the proud owner of a Wii. I guess that means I'll be spending even less time here. If any of you have one and want to add me to your buddy lists, give me a shout.

I'm saving it until the New Year to get mine.

B, I really thought I'd be doing that, what with them being rarer than hens teeth at the moment.
GB, I'll have to get back to you on that one.

No need to apologise, the more the merrier
I'd actually say from first impressions it's a heck of a lot better than I was expecting it to be. As far as I'm concerned graphics are not the be all and end all for a decent game title; playability has more weight with me over anything else. For example when I was at PAX in Seattle last August, I spent more time playing Geometry Wars on the XBox360 and the demo of Elite Beat Agents on the DS than I did playing the demos of stuff like Gears of War or Saints Row. Heck, I liked Elite Beat Agents so much I imported it and am seriously considering doing the same for Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan (the prequel that was only ever released in Japan). Saying that about the graphics though, what I've seen so far of Zelda Twilight Princess has had my jaw on the floor.
Oh yeah, the last console (not counting handhelds) I ever owned was a Sega Master System. Anything over that could be considered an improvement.

Any Wiinjuries yet?
Agreed on the graphics front. I'm considering getting a Wii and you can bet I'd spend a lot of time on the virtual console. I never owned a console (I was a Speccy man, then we had PCs), so a lot of them would be pretty new to me.

Other than the aches and pains of lack of exercise? Can't say I have.

The thingummy malarky that attaches to arm/hand hasn't ended up across the lounge yet, then.
(unlike several PS/PS2 and XBox controllers in our house Munch's Odessee)

I don't know much about these game(s/ing/?) thingies, but I have heard that the PSP is now not worth much s/h - gets out of date really quickly this modern technology.
Sorry to but in, thought it might help you not refuse the first few stupidly low trade-in offers.

Like the new Zelda for £40 with Gamecube chucked in for £20?
Had a Gamecube once, for three days, hated it!

It's not like at this moment in time I've got anything (or anyone) better to spend my money on. Besides, I've hardly spent anything on myself this year if the truth be told.
Hope you have a great Chrimble Mrs B, and I hope everyone else does too
Now where did I stash that spare I've been saving for weeks?

There's no need to search for stashed beer. Sneak under the Christmas tree and steal the drink shaped prezzies like me.
Oh, and have a very merry Crozmas.
