Dancing Ermine

I've taken the liberty of actually writing some since UCAS did so well getting accepted and all, so I thought I'd mention that the Olympic Games entry and Immortality have been rehashed and are hopefully slightly better. There were one or two done by other people and a question if you actually checked the pages occasionally...

Just thought I'd let you know here to make sure I caught you.

Yeah - I probably need to get rid of the 'Entries that need rewriting' page, since it was a list of crap entries the h2g2 writing team had written, which have since been got rid of... (or at least demoted!)

They're still useful for pointing out the entries that could do with writing though smiley - smiley

Maybe update the page to say that some people are rewriting the entries and you don't need to be informed, people should just search for the relevant articles smiley - smiley

Lonnytunes - Winter Is Here

G'day Ben, In my yarn about the "Green Flash" http://www.h2g2.com/A352513 which you subbed, I notice that the sound of the milk truck has been shortened from the correct tinkle to tink. Throughout the yarn are some incongruous gaps (spaces) in the middle of words.

Any chance of getting TPTB to fix these small glitches.

Thanks, Loony

Hypno

Hi Smiley

Yes I have a lot of spaces inbetween words on the article Hypnosis - I take it they were most likely soft spaces used by your texted editor but they come through as hard spaces when transfered to the h2g2 editor, (Just a Guess).

I also note you have added a light hearted notation yourself to the end of the article. here is another if you can still edit it.

Crocodiles and Aligaters can also be hypnotise.

HOW TO HYPNOTISE A CROC.
First take the Croc by the snout - we dont want to be bitten, do we - Hold the mouth close with one hand with a really tight grip. As with the lobster, you then proceed to stroke it gently, starting between the eyes and with a tickling action ending at the tip of the snout. Repeat this action until the croc is quite still. Now slowly remove the one handed grip and step away.. Be careful at this stage to be able to move very quickly, just in case it does not work. Well, the idea is to make the croc armless, not yourself. If it has worked the croc will stay motionless until a sudden move or sound is made, so move very slowly.

The above is a fact - I have seen it done myself. although it was not a full size croc, About half grown.

One other thing, I clicked on the Discuss button on your page and instead of openning a new thread it lead me to this forum. Could you inform the notables about this bug.

I used Netscape and posted using the GOO version.
