h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

This has got to be the most boring site on the web. I have been here 6 weeks now and nothing has happened... absolutely zilch ... more interesting watching dough rise (much more!!) I am really disappointed because I am a big H2G2 fan and I thought this site sounded really interesting ... but I guess it is a dead duck. I will post this where it will lay undisturbed until the end of the universe really does take place ... no doubt!

Just curious: what were you expecting to see, or what would you like to happen that isn't?

Shock horror ... someone else is out there after all ... how are you Niten ... well I hoped for some intellectual stimulation ... or more donuts ... instead of which I have been talking to myself for the last six weeks ... which I can do anywhere on the web! Have to go ... time to fix a sandwich!

I suppose I'm deriving the intellectual stimulation you refer to from producing new Guide entries. And people-surfing -- sticking my nose where it doesn't belong, that sort of thing. "This Guide will be what I make it," I've decided.

I think it helps that I'm in love with the sound of my own voice.

Well I can't hear your voice ... so I can't comment on that (though I am sure it's a good 'un ) but I have lurked around the site a bit and haven't found much on here that isn't around elsewhere ... I mean what has this site got that other's haven't. As for producing entries ... I derive part of my income from writing articles ... so writing would be like going on a busman's holiday for me. I guess I was hoping for some live debate and maybe taking forward some of the themes from the books ... or looking at humour (which is something that I am all for ... when you look like me you have to be!) Anyhow I guess my main gripe is that after being here a number of weeks ... I have an audience of precisely one ... which is not to say I don't value you!! Hopefully speak to you again soon Niten!

Not sure how i ended up here but i must try to convince you to change your bad oppinion of this place. It does have everything that you hoped for it's just that you have to go out and find it! Venture into Forums, socialise, voice oppinions, be funny. You'll soon find what you seek. We're a freindly bunch and only a few of us bite. Really.

Hi UFM ... dunno how I landed on this page either ... but I have to say that I agree 100% with you! I am an affable guy humourous full of hugs for anyone even a heavyweight like you but I had not even had one visitor to my homepage or any replies to my postings ... and a lot of the so called "approved articles" seem just to be peoples personal opinions on subjects some of which are informative ... but others are just opinionated (I guess thats what opinions are?!) anyhow I am with you fat guy ... it appears just to be a money-making venture with people doing the writing whilst the site gets all the credit for it. Still if you have a moment and you would like to visit my homepage ... I'll hang on a day or two more
