Absolutely! I'm actually working on a short story loosely based on a rather obscure Grimm gem called "King Thrushbeard."

Puts me in mind of that lovely children's rhyme "four-and-twenty blackbirds baked in a pie". Actually, the title does bring a faint recollection of a fairytale about some birds nesting in some guys beard...probably nothing to do with it though!
They weren't called the Brothers Grimm for nothing!
I'll be delighted to read your tale - will you put it up on h2g2?
