It doesnt matter if the food is soft, my throat isn't. It hurts just drinking water, swallowing is the third most painful thing I can do at the moment. The second is yawning and first prise goes to the coughing fit I had about 2 hours ago.

Can't the chocolate be taken intravenously?

Some how I don't think that is medically advisable.

Usually I take three or four of those cough sweet things. It might not always stop the pain but it gives you a nice sugar hit while you are thinking of something that will.

I managed to eat something more solid than rice today. I got such a feeling of achievement, pathetic isn't it?

Nah, not pathetic, I'd be the same without proper solids for a week. I couldn't do without lots of meat products. Soup just isn't the same.

I managed a bag of crisps today, and the tasted so nice. I think the sore throat is over, shame about the temperature.
