Duncan, is mise DOB, and I've just reregistered with h2g2, and was lookin at your (seemingly dormant) attempts to index the pubs of Dublin. Obviously there hasn't been much writing done on this subject for the guide, presumably because anyone doing enough research for such an article is, by the end of it, unable to actually do the writing. I think we should compare notes, because I think to be a true guide to Life, the Universe and Everything, a decent list of Dublin pubs is necessary on this Guide.
I've got a review of 1 pub (Mahaffy's on the corner of Westland Row and Pearse St, great place check it out) on my page, and would love to add others and put up a proper listing on the site. Working with someone who's already started would be a good step.
Problem is, I'm living in San Diego, California at the moment (although I could have to return to Ireland if I don't get a job here soon) but I can remember enough about several pubs at home to at least help with compilation.
For starters, some of the ones I'd like to see included; Mahaffy's (obviously), O'Neills (Pearse St and Suffolk St), Rody Bolands in Rathmines, the Longstone, the Porterhouse, Trinity's Pavilion Bar, some more of the pubs in Temple Bar, the Gingerman, the Bleeding Horse, Pravda, Zanzibar, etc etc.
Get back to me if you feel there's anythin to be done on the subject,
DOB

This has been pretty much stalled for a while - perhaps it's time to go on a mad weekend again

That's exactly the one. Wish I could join you on that night out; unfortunately, as I said, I'm currently in the States, so won't be drinking in any Dublin pubs for a while yet. But I will be back at some stage before Xmas to check a few out.
Key: Complain about this post
