This evening's journal is early because I'm in that sort of mood.
I'd like to wish Bea and Dai many happy years.
I'd also like to thank every single serviceman past and present who values my life and indeed my way of life before their own. Thank you.
I'd also like to comment on the news stories of the past day and my own newsfeed on fb.
I noticed that more poppies were sold this year than last (according to the beeb) and I wondered was that helped by the people purchasing them to burn them? Really I'm not bothered if some factions did just that because the only place a poppy can be purchased in the UK is from a representative of the Royal British Legion and if anyone bought some with the intention of burning them they did in fact support the Legion by their purchase. For that I thank them. I prefer to wear mine with pride.
The other news story was the large black ribbon that a 'friend' of mine posted on her wall to remember IRELAND'S dead. This was accompanied by the Sinn Fein war cry 'our day will come'. Big news is that their day has come and gone. It is abhorrent to tarnish 11/11 with the memory of terrorists responsible for murdering more of their own people than any other faction or force in the Northern Ireland 'troubles'.
I normally don't post politics here but I'm very tempted to remind her of some of 'IRELAND'S' dead murdered by her 'heroes' .....

I don't remember it from last year, but this year there doesn't seem to be a single thread or journal not mentioning poppies. So if this is indicative to the general feel, I guess it would explain why more poppies were sold.

I understand that there have been complaints about poppies - so I think the increased sales would have come from people thinking 'I'll show them' and buying a poppy as a protest against protests.
As for the black ribbon etc - h'mmm. There's a time and a place for everything. Some people will never work this out.

Hi Bel and Ivan.*waves*
I have to admit I have no idea why more poppies were sold this year, but it's good that there were.
I did eventually post to the black ribbon picture/slogan - and be damned with the consequences (just in case I become one of 'IRELAND'S DEAD') I think the point of it is solely to be offensive so I'm gonna' push the ignore button.

I already did, Lil.
So how's you?
I've spent so little time here this past week or so I've lost track of everything again - apart from my journal.

Oh I'm grand thanks.
Just waiting for daughter to come home. She was out seeing some friends in 'Fame' (a school production) and she's still not home. She phoned about an hour ago - just driving around - be home later.*tsk*
If she's not home by 12.30 I'll be ringing her back (or should that be neck)?

There's a bloke in my office has been sniffing and sneezing all week. I was tempted to slap him but couldn't bear to see him cry as well.

Well that certainly lightened my mood.
While you're under there why don't you have a wee sleep.
Daughter is home and in bed already so I think I'll hit the hay, busy day tomorrow. Drama, shopping, hospice.
Goodnight.
