The net and the 'net

There is no particular reason for me to write a journal entry tonight. And, indeed, far fewer reasons than on many other nights since the last time I wrote one. And so this seems like the perfect time to write one anyway.
Sometimes I think that life is like a net and we all get slightly too impressed with all the string and particularly the nets, which obscures the fact that nets - like the universe, and (we are led to believe) everything in it - are composed of literally almost nothing.
And so here is a journal entry celebrating and recording nothing. I suspect that this justification in itself may appear as an attempt at significance. You see how nothing can be so easily spoiled? Nature abhors a vacuum.

I'm too tired to comprehend this. I'll think about it. Maybe I'll even have nightmares. Or sweet dreams. Who can tell?
Anyway, it's nice to hear nothing of you.

I am tired too, which is why I did not proofread myself enough - 'string and knots' would have made much more sense than 'string and nets', of course. Sigh.

I'd never have noticed. Too much going on on h2g2 at present, my brain is in 'overload' and I *really* must go to bed now. Howwever, your mentioning of the net reminded me of one of your 24LAS which was about fishermen - Or was it weavers? (an organisation of killers. To do with nets and knots, too). Must look it up. I watched that once. (Sorry bif you can't follow, but it's how my brain works).

Yeah. A jawdroppingly absurd film. My colleagues had a side bet running for the rest of the summer as to how many times they could work the word 'loom' into classes.
