Taking your question seriously...I remember falling down a flight of stairs in New Jersey, when I was about two. But do I remember it directly, or do I remember being told about it later, or do I remember remembering it? Quite the question to wrestle with late at night, as my childhood continues to recede into the mists of time. Sometimes it seems like I remember nothing, only memories.

How many memories aren't memories at all. When the family get together (4 children) we recall the same old things. I split my head on the wide of the front door aged 3. Christmas Eve 1964. Do I remember it? My daughter is 3. Does she remember anything? Perhaps if we keep a journal together.
