When you turned the topic toward food in another thread, I had to wonder whether you frequent daily Kos. When matters get warm in a discussion, the seniors immediately start talking about recipes.

I just wanted to try and calm everything down by spiralling off on a tangent. Fortunately some people round here can be sent haring after a well-thrown stick.

Plus I really, REALLY love soup.

Mind you, daily Kos is a progressive political site (over a quarter million hits a day) and boy do they ever have trolls. A few months ago the owner, Markos Moulitsas, got so fed up that he went on a killing spree, and personally banned 30 people in one day.

And I learned a fantastic carrot cake recipe.

Which is the most important thing, after all...

Carrot cake sounds good right about now. Y'know, at 1:45 AM, local time, when the only remotely cake-like entities in my apartment are sliced bread, bagels, and oatmeal (not necessarily in that order) ...

Speaking of carrot cake, I found a recipe for a GF version that looks promising.

Sounds great, Lil - I'll try it if I ever start eating potatoes and meat again. (I can imagine it wouldn't work very well without them )
