PUDDING hits the airwaves!
Ormondroyd Started conversation May 26, 2003
I'm going on the radio tonight to spread PUDDING's gospel of grumpiness! Radio 5 have asked me to record an interview about PUDDING for the 'Up All Night' programme!
I'm not sure exactly when it'll go out, but it'll probably be heard more than once as 'Up All Night' usually repeats items.
The word is spreading! We shall grumpily overcome!

Does Radio 5 broadcast on the Internet, by any chance?

, Greta! Yeah, Radio 5's available online here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive/
Trouble is that the show doesn't start till 1am, so you'll have to be up late to hear it!

For all I know, they have a sweet tooth and see Ormy as the new dessert chef... But why aren't they interested in airing it live to the HUGE Danish following ?
(had to get that off my chest - I know you'll all understand
- a remarkable breakthrough for the organisation!!!

Well, folks, the interview has been done, and I was confronted (by phone link-up) with Janice Hathy, whose reported antics with the 'Great American Grump Out' anti-grumpiness day prompted the formation of PUDDING!
This titanic confrontation will, I'm told, be broadcast at 1:20am UK time. If you miss it, I won't hold it against you. I'm not sure I can stay awake that long myself!

For today (Tuesday) only, anyone who missed it can catch up by going to http://www.bbc.co.uk/fivelive/ and clicking on the 'Listen live/Listen again' links, then 'Up All Night 1-2am' You'll have to sit through about 25 minutes of other stuff before the PUDDING segment, but hopefully it's worth it.

not one bit aggressive, that Janice, eh? Very very SERIOUS about spreading good cheer! Noble intent, but I don't think she gets the irony in what she does, or the decidedly tongue-in-cheek slant of PUDDING...
Still, you have to admire people who are so determined to be positive. I wish I were. I can't imagine her being a grump, though.

Thank you both for taking the trouble to listen.
I agree, Greta. Ms Hathy was so earnest about lifting depression that I seriously doubted her claims to be a grump, although I'm sorely tempted to induct her as an honorary member of PUDDING. The idea made her laugh, and I frankly felt that getting a out of her was quite an achievement.
'We call it being British'... You're making me feel patriotic, MO!
