Freely allowing contributions is the philosophy of the web and DA on a recent Radio 4 programme re-iterated this as 'just like listening to any soap box speaker, everyone makes their own decisions about who to believe'.. and... 'The amazing fact is that we have spent so many years believing everything that we have been told'... etc.
Perhaps the problem in presenting this as 'the h2g2.com guide' is that users might read something they know is factully incorrect and lose faith in the whole site... and they will not report their dissatisfaction in any other way than simply not logging on to h2g2 any more... Perhaps this should be more closely monitored and followed up with some sort of unintrusive follow up communication asking why an individual has stopped visiting h2g2...? .. oops I have presented a proposed solution when I should be brainstorming problems

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
