Was just surfing around and thought I'd drop notes to some people I hadn't spoken to for a while. Hope things are well with you.

Hi there - thanks for the message I've not been around much for a long time, been very busy doing all manner of things mostly infinitely duller than surfing h2g2... How are you? I noticed you're coming to the UK for a bit

Been and come back and going again - I was in the UK for a month over June and July. And I've got that exchange program starting in September. I'm excited!
Otherwise life's been dull... nothing much to do outside of school.

I've been busy - finished uni June 2002, finally found a job in March and my girlfriend and I are in the process of buying our first flat. If you're in the region of Sheffield when you come to the UK you're more than welcome to come along and help us ...err... decorate it We'll show you round Sheffield too, of course, though I'm sure plenty of people have offered this already Failing that I'm sure I could come up with a list of one or two places worth visiting in the UK. Where did you see on your last visit?

I spent most of my time at Richard's house in Chesterfield (Richard would be the boyfriend - Clive U113478) - not far from Sheffield! Had I known you were in the general area, we could have had a mini-meet! Seeing as his family is the closest I've got to family there, I might be up that way on holidays, so perhaps we can get together then.
While there, Rich and I took a weekend each in London and Edinburgh, went to York one day, Manchester another (for one of Granny's meets), and Alton Towers another day. I'd love to visit all of the above again, plus just about anywhere else people will take me. As an English student, I feel I need to get to Stratford almost as a pilgrimage (), but that's the only place I know I want to go still that I haven't. I'm open to suggestion.

We did 'The Stratford Thing' a few times (go there and see a play) and it is a special place and experience I've been to Cambridge quite often over the last few years as my sister lives there. That's worth going to and not too far away (about 3 hours drive). I'd like to go down to the Minack Theatre again someday, but as it's in Cornwall that's a bit more of a trek
A friend of mine has a French girlfriend - your last stay here sounds like her's as they seem to pack a lot into their time when they're in each other's countries

I'll have to be sure to get to Straford, then. Sounds enjoyable. I'll just have to see where else schoolwork and free time allow me to get to.
We do tend to pack our trips tightly. Rich and I did have a lot of down time during weekdays (which was nice, y'know, cause... yeah ), but our weekends, more oft than not, were hectic. When he visited last summer, we didn't do quite as much and avoided traveling on the weekends at all costs, but we did try to pack as much in as we could considering our area (bit too far away from DC and Baltimore to go there without someone driving us as I don't have a lisence, and we got to NYC only because we were attending Shea and TJ's wedding and there was a direct train from Lancaster, Pa, to NYC). We never get a chance to be bored - as if we could be.
