I have never heard of the name "Raine" before, and think it is very pretty. (That is if you are female, if not than take no offense) I was given a very plain name, "Eric", and run into other "Erics" all the time, how very boring.
P.S. If you are not cheating, your not trying.

Eric can't be all that bad... think of all the famous Erics there have been - Eric the Red (discoverer of Greenland), Flat Eric (gopher-type puppet with a huge cult following and #1 hit), Erik the Viking (fictional character surely based on some true bloke from the past) - ahem, perhaps some of these have been more famous than others. Still, it was something to talk about.
Anyway, thanks for the compliment!
Question for you - 'mid-west' is a bit vague, can you be more precise please?!

Gladly, I live in Iowa, Des Moines, Iowa to be exact. It's very nice here, a lot of open country, around one big town. Please though, you have to tell me, what does "TTFN" stand for? And also tell me where you reside. talk to you later. Eric

TTFN stands for "ta-ta for now", or "goodbye" as us lesser mortals like to say. I would have let Raine reply to this herself, but I managed to mess up her PC and modem so badly a couple of weeks ago that she hasn't been able to access h2g2 since.

Well, I'm finally back online - thanks Dickie for sorting it - and so to business...
As Dickie very kindly pointed out, TTFN stands for Ta Ta For Now, which stems from that most wonderful of literary/cartoon characters, Tigger.
To answer your other question, I live in a town called Nailsea, about 11 miles south of Bristol. It's a very bland town, although it has a fair bit of history. And pubs. But it's turning more and more into a dormitory town, with housing estates popping up all over the place and a ever-growing population. Still, it's convenient and safe and reasonably well-off, so I suppose I should be grateful for small mercies.
I hate to admit it, but I know very little about the States. However, to improve my knowledge I've just looked at an atlas to find where you live and I'm happy to report that I found Des Moines. Not a tremendous feat of discovery, I know, but I feel better for it!!
Speak soon,
TTFN
