Thanks Anonymouse, I was wondering where those went...

Um, because it's a mouthful?

We need to choose soon - there's less than 60 days left!

So: Y2K, naughties or other?

How about "The Naughties". I think that got the best response before this conversation died. (NOT my fault!)

I think there's room for two... surely 'noughties' is an excellent one, although I can't see people who still remember the last one using that, and maybe an official one, say TOM. And oh-oh-oh isn't for the decade, only the year, like Y2K.
Who should we ask for an official opinion?
Remember, only 5 million seconds remaining...

Why don't we ask the Big Man himself - Douglas Adams. Anyone got his address???

Let's not call it anything. Let's just ignore it.

"Uh, excuse me, I'm actaully not here for this decade. I should be back in the 'tens' but that sounds pretty lame so I might be another few years, leave a message at the screech.Bye."

Oh, DNAs email address [the one he wants his adoring fans to send to, anyway] is [email protected]. He does have another, but he wants that for his own personal stuff, not fanmail. Shall I email him?
{looks around forum} Isn't anyone else going to say 'You can't possibly, let me instead? smiley - smiley

"You can't possibly - let me instead!"

If we all write a mail, is he more likely to reply?

You -do- realise the significance of that line, don't you smiley - smiley
I think a single email will suffice - we don't want to flood his email, even his fan mail area. Make sure you put a link in: just copy and paste the address bar in.
Oh, and ask him to respond within the next 4.5 million seconds.

Post 137

I think that the likelihood of his mail being completely flooded is quite high anyway, and that nothing we will do will effect that in any way. Still, if you wish to be the one to send the mail, my friend, why not? Let us know if you get a reply. smiley - smiley

I feel that apathy has set in. No one has posted ANYTHING here for the last two weeks. And there are only 2 million seconds left.
So I am making a decision. I'm calling it the noughties, and anyone who would like to argue with that, --DO IT SOON!--
