Reading the fine print I see they say it may take 15 minutes to process membership changes, so I dunno whether you got the first test message or not.

I like the idea of the mailing list, but the only experience I've had with them was when I got my friend to sign up to the Watership Down mailing list.

He got 176 emails in one go.

So, if I sign up with this one, I end up getting snowed under with mail. Or is there more to it? Methinks I'd better look into it a bit further.

Ah-ha! Looks nothing like the Watership Down one. Maybe I've confused something here. I'll just go and register with it now shall I?

Hmmm, now when I follow that link it says "your membership to this community has not been approved". Maybe there's more to this than I thought.

ffMike is Lord of List: he has to actually give personal
approval to applicants. It's really automatic but takes
a few hours because of turnaround, and ffMike may not be
at his computer just now. I'll leave him a message. I'm
sure he'll be back after he finishes feeding the chickens
and chopping wood for the stove...

Ha ha! thhat 'll be why I havn't been approved yet then.. or is that I didn't use Fate as a name? And how come there is only 9 people on the list? that seems a mighty small list!
Or will the h2g2 bods not advertise it too much in case it detracts from the real h2g2 stuff?

Since I've been registered with h2g2, that is the third time I've seen FATC's posting, word for word. Is this some paragraph you copy & paste into your postings every so often, cos I've got a terrible feeling of deja vu here.
Or maybe it's just me.
