Again, very realistic... also very funny. I pity your protagonist very much.
But I have to notice: I think maybe you should have ended your story at the graduation and made this part a whole new... thing. I have the impression you have a lot to tell.

You may be right, but it is too late for that now. I see it more as an interlude to what comes after the holiday, which is again related to the educational / career theme.
In the end the premise of the story is a diary sort of thing. It is loosely based on what my own kids are going through at the time (graduate from secondary school and go on to study). Since I don't have a crystal ball, the holiday thing / bridge had to come in between, waiting for the other things to happen in real life.
