Due to past history etc, Yorkshire had a "contingent" of Viking "emissaries" over those years
and many of our towns etc and parts of our local dialect
have Viking influence in them
I know (and hope) that from information from a relative My granddad had Danish/Viking ancestors (again! I hope)
Therefore the 
could have some Viking DNA It's what helps makes a Yorkshiremansoo modest
