This is a good sequence of photos smiley - smiley but did the blackbird get its worm?

The thing in its beak in the last shot looks more like a clump of grass!

The worm is likely a late one, not an early one, as the ground may freeze before long.

Not to worry. Once the critters go into hibernation or death, the blackbird can eat seeds wherever they happen to be, or whatever is in birdfeeders. They may have to fight squirrels, bears, and other birds ot get it though.
