This is a good sequence of photos but did the blackbird get its worm?
The thing in its beak in the last shot looks more like a clump of grass!

The worm is likely a late one, not an early one, as the ground may freeze before long.
Not to worry. Once the critters go into hibernation or death, the blackbird can eat seeds wherever they happen to be, or whatever is in birdfeeders. They may have to fight squirrels, bears, and other birds ot get it though.

I'll try my damndest to get a pic of that Lancastrian Bear, but don't hold your breath!
Mind you, stranger things have happened this year, and there is a zoo down the road in Blackpool....

There were goats around the Christmas tree this year (there will be video), so yes, anything is possible!
